Welcome to the Virtual United States Air Force
Not a virtual airline. A virtual Air Force.
The Virtual United States Air Force (vUSAF) is a mission-driven organization on VATSIM where pilots don’t just fly routes—they execute operations. From aerial refueling and global airlift to coordinated multi-aircraft missions, vUSAF delivers a structured, realistic military aviation experience.
Founded in 1999, vUSAF has built a legacy of professionalism, innovation, and community. Today, we continue that legacy by combining real-world Air Force concepts with modern simulation and global participation.
What We Do
vUSAF operates as a unified force capable of executing a wide range of missions, including:
Aerial Refueling (KC-135 / KC-46 operations)
Strategic and Tactical Airlift
Combat Tactical Fighter and Bomber Operations
Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR)
Formation and Training Operations
Large-Scale Coordinated Events
Every mission is structured, purposeful, and designed to reflect real-world operational planning.
How We Operate
Our organization is built on three core pillars:
Realism — Military-style procedures, doctrine, and mission execution
Structure — Rank progression, aircraft qualifications, and training pipelines
Operations — Live, coordinated missions instead of static routes
Members progress through a defined training system, earn qualifications, and take on increasing responsibility—from new pilot to instructor and leadership roles.
Who We Are
vUSAF is a global community of aviation enthusiasts, including civilians, veterans, and active-duty personnel. What unites us is a shared commitment to:
Professionalism
Continuous learning
Enjoyment of the simulation experience
We are more than a group—we are a team operating as one force.
Why Join vUSAF
Fly real-world styled missions—not airline routes
Participate in coordinated multi-aircraft operations
Train and qualify in multiple aircraft platforms
Be part of a structured, evolving organization
Join a community focused on excellence and realism
Join the Mission
The Virtual United States Air Force continues to evolve with new technology, new capabilities, and a growing operational environment. We are actively seeking motivated individuals ready to contribute, learn, and operate as part of a professional team.
One Team. One Force. One Mission.
Global Vigilance. Global Reach. Global Power.
Respectfully,
Robert Phillips
